There are many common problems on wearing dentures.
The first common problem on wearing dentures is, premature aging. The teeth of the denture can get excessively worn. Since the teeth of the denture is getting shorter then it will shorten the face. It will also increase the wrinkles in the face especially around the cheeks, chin and the mouth.
Another common problem on wearing dentures is bad oral hygiene. Bad oral hygiene is caused by food getting stuck in dirty or old dentures. The bacteria can breed and can weaken the dentures and that will case bad breath.
Another common problem on having dentures is the psychological and emotional distress is caused by the denture not looking natural or dentures not fitting properly. You could also be embarrassed because it is if difficult eating, speaking, or even to socialize.
Another problem on having dentures is jaw and joint disorder. Jaw and joint disorder can be caused by the ridges becoming shorten. It can cause any kind of improper support and maybe function. The jaw mechanism can be upset by it. In some extreme cases it can lead to temporo mandibular joint disorder or also known as TMJ. TMJ can cause great deal of pain to the jaw, head, shoulders and/or neck.
There are many more common problems wearing dentures. If you think you are having a problem with your dentures contact your dentist as soon as possible. The sooner you contact the dentist the better it is because if you wait, the problem can get worse and you could be putting your oral health into jeopardy. Sometimes putting your oral health into jeopardy, you could also be putting the rest of your body’s health into jeopardy.
